Celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States with this official 2026 “We the People” U.S. Constitution Quarter. Issued for America’s Semiquincentennial, this special one-year design is the fourth of five quarters released by the United States Mint during 2026 to commemorate important events and principles in American history.
The obverse features James Madison, the fourth President of the United States and the celebrated “Father of the Constitution.” It includes the inscriptions “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and the dual anniversary date “1776–2026.”
The reverse depicts Independence Hall in Philadelphia, where the United States Constitution was written, debated and signed. The prominent inscription “WE THE PEOPLE” honors the opening words of the Constitution and the enduring principle that America’s government derives its authority from its citizens.
